Christmas

I just wanted to post quickly about our fun Christmas this year. Peyton had a very very hard time getting to sleep on Christmas Eve, I don't think he quite understands the concept of Santa Claus yet he may have just been wired from playing with his cousins. Anyway, he finally got to sleep around 12:15 am. We were worried that he wouldn't wake up early enough on his own but he ended waking up around 7:45 or so. We had fun opening presents and spending time with just our little family. After presents we headed over to Meemaw's to open cousin & Meemaw presents, spend the day with Dan's family and eat Christmas dinner. We had a fun time, Peyton loved playing with his Transformers and Bailey of course enjoyed all the attention from her aunts. We had a lot of snow on Christmas Eve so we were able to have a white Christmas (sorry Kim and Nate :) it was beautiful.

Here are some pictures of our fun and some of our most favorite gifts.

Peyton and Bailey on Christmas Eve.
Peyton wanted to leave a note with the milk and cookies.

After opening presents.

Peyton enjoyed opening Bailey's presents then showing them to her.
Bailey had a lot of fun just watching and wating for the next bow
or piece of wrapping paper to come her way.

Peyton got A LOT of Transformer stuff.

We enjoyed playing the Wii at Meemaw's, she even gave us one of our own!!

Some of our favorite gifts...

This was made for me by Dan's sister, Betsy!

Bailey's Aunt Buffy made this adorable sweater for her!

I made this cape for Peyton,

at first he didn't like it :( but now he does :)

We are so thankful for our family and the time that we have to spend together to celebrate the birth of our Saviour! Thank you everyone for making our Christmas Season special.

Tree

I've been meaning to post pictures of our Christmas Tree, it's been up since the beginning of December! We have always had a live tree, I love the smell and the feel the tree brings to our home during the holiday season. We had a great time setting the tree up and later singing Christmas songs. Peyton learned "Jingle balls" (as he sings it). We know we should correct him but it's just too funny!

Gingerbread House...

Today Peyton and I made a Gingerbread house. I admit, we made it from a package and due to my lack of creativity, we made it look a lot like the one on the box. I guess I should say due to the lack of our creativity since I encouraged Peyton to put the decorations on wherever he wanted too but he wanted to follow the picture on the box. Guess he takes after me. :)

Congratulations!!

Dan graduated from Weber State today, after a very very very long time of attending college, with a Bachelors of Science in Sales and Service Technology! I am so proud of Dan, he has really accomplished a lot in his 28 years. Aside from going to school for the last 6 1/2 years, Dan has been a husband, a father, a home owner and has been employed full time. He has really worked hard to reach this goal. It took him a while, and it was pretty tough for all of us but he kept too it and I appreciate his diligence. I am so thankful for him and his willingness to work hard for our family. I love you Dan!

Monthly Pictures

Here are the monthly pictures of the kids. They are both getting so big! Bailey has been rolling over and can sit up by herself most of the time. I love that they are interacting more as Bailey is getting older. They have just started having little laughing sessions, Peyton will make a funny noise and Bailey will bust up in laughter, they are so silly together! Bailey adores Peyton!

Peyton- 3 years 1 month.

Bailey 7 months.

Jackson Daniel Hoover 8/24/03-12/10/03

In my home there is a photo,
of a face more precious than gold.
To those who love and lost you,
your memory will never grow old.
Today I look at your photo,
at your face so loving and true.
No wonder my heart is breaking,
losing a sweet child like you.
Each day you walk beside me,
and when my life is through.
I pray that god will take my hand,
and lead me straight to you.

Cute conversation.

We have been teaching Peyton about the story of Jesus' birth lately. He has really liked it and when we hear Christmas songs that talk about Jesus in a manger or Mary and Joseph Peyton always points it out. It has been really fun.
This afternoon he and I had a funny conversation. This is how it went:
-Christmas music playing in the background-
Peyton: "Hey Mom"
Me: "Yeah bud"
Peyton: "Maybe baby jesus is like Bailey"
Me:"Yeah he was just like Bailey, your right son"
Peyton:"Yeah, he eats milk and wiggles his arms"
Me: "uh yep, I guess your right, he did eat milk and wiggle his arms"

What a silly boy!

Jump n Babble

Bailey loves to be in her jumperoo! She is so silly lately, she will just burst into laughter randomly. Peyton has a great time making her laugh.

Cute Coat!!

I just had to post this picture of Bailey's new coat. It is so cute, I love it! It's pink on the outside (obviously) but you can't really see the inside, it's brown. I love pink and brown together (for Bailey of course, not for me).

Here comes Santa Claus...

Last night we were able to go to Meemaw's annual Prudential Christmas party. The party is always so fun, they have Santa Claus there for the kids to have pictures and Fifi the clown is there tying balloon animals and other objects for the kids, best of all they have lots of food! We have gone to the party every year since we had Jackson. Last year Peyton freaked out and didn't want to have anything to do with Santa. This year was quite the opposite. He was so excited to go. We have been talking about it for a few weeks now. Peyton has a few toy magazines that he looks at daily, he always turns to the same page and wants the same thing (for the most part) Optimus Prime. Recently he has added StarScream to his list. When I ask him why he wants StarScream he says "So Optimus Prime can shoot him". So, on the way to see Santa Peyton suddenly yells out "I forgot my magazine!" Dan says "it's ok son, Santa has every toy up here (pointing to his head)" then Peyton says "ok ok Dad, we'll see if he has the toy's on his head" LOL!! Then we had to explain how Santa has it in his mind (that was tough). It was really funny.
When we got there Peyton was amazed by Santa. As we stood in line he just stared at him, it was so funny. When it was our turn he just ran up to Santa and started telling him what he wanted, he was all jittery and talking really fast it was so cute. Finally we got him to get on Santa's lap for the pictures. It was great. Bailey did really well too, she's not really to the age that a big bearded man would scare her yet. After Peyton saw Santa he was pretty sad because his didn't get an Optimus Prime and StarScream. Then we had to explain that you ask Santa and he brings it on Christmas (he was quite confused).

After seeing Santa, I took Peyton to see Fifi the clown and he didn't want anything to do with her. Apparently he is freaked out by clowns. After a while he saw all the balloon animals that his cousins had from her and he decided that if Aunt Buffy would hold him he would have her make him a penguin and a dinosaur.

This is the best picture I could get. He wouldn't get close enough for me to take their picture together. So there you so Fifi in the background.
It was a great night, we had a lot of fun and we're so glad the kids could see Santa.

SCENTSY PARTY!!

Just wanted to let you all know that I am going to be having a Scentsy party this coming Saturday December 1st at 11:00 am. It was sort of a last minute decision but I thought these would make GREAT Christmas gifts!
If you are interested in coming to the party leave me a comment with your email address and I will send you the info.
The Scentsy party is going to be combined with a jewelry party (you have to come to the party to see the jewelry). The lady is just starting her business so there isn't anything online to see.

Take a look at the online Scentsy catalog at HERE. They have such cute candle warmers and it's a great product because the warmers are electric, use a 25 watt light bulb. It melts the wax just above room temperature, so you never have to worry about getting burned. You can even leave your warmer on 24 hours a day if you want! And they have 45 choices of warmers and 80 different scents. The bars are leadless, flameless, and smokeless. They also have room sprays and car candles (these would be great inexpensive neighbor gifts, just tie a bow and there you have it!)
If you can't come to the party or don't want to let me know if you want to order anything.

Thanks a ton!
Happy Holidays

also, if you live too far away for me to be able to deliver your order Scentsy offers free shipping and they'll ship it right too your house.

A little thanks...

I just wanted to take a few minutes and give a little thanks, since it is Thanksgiving and all. We had a great day today. We lounged around for a while this morning and then we went over to Dan's Mom's house for some family time and some dinner. It was a nice relaxed day which is just the way we like it. At Dan's Mom's a little football game took place in the back yard. Peyton loved it (even though he only got the ball a few times). It was so cold outside, Peyton's little cheeks were like ice when he came in!

Notice Dan isn't wearing shoes! He wore his sandals and I guess they were slowing him down. The dinner we had was awesome! Fried turkey (4 turkeys!), andoullie sausage stuffing, cornbread stuffing, andoullie sausage mashed potatoes, regular mashed potatoes, yummy yummy gravy, cranberry sauce with cream cheese, homemade rolls, two types of sweet potatoes, fried corn with bacon, green beans, pretzel jello and for desert... pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, caramel apple pie, and cherry pie! It was such a great meal with TONS of food!
I am so thankful for Dan's family. They have been so good to us and I always know that they are there for us. I am especially thankful for Dan's mom. She has been such a great mother and I really appreciate her kindness and the love she shows for me and my children (and Dan, of course). Thank you Sandy!!
I'm also thankful for Dan. He has been so supportive of me and all that I want to accomplish. We have grown so close though our trials and he has always been attentive to my feelings and needs. He is a hard worker and has always provided for our family. I am so thankful that I never have to worry about weather or not he will be able/willing to do whatever he needs to in order to provide. Dan is such a great Dad and I am thankful that my kids are able to have such a great time with their Dad. Dan helps so much around the house and with the kids. I would say he has probably bathed Bailey and Peyton more than I have!
I am so thankful to be a mother! I love my children more than I could ever describe, they bring so much to my life and I will forever be in debt to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be their mother. I am thankful for their forgiving hearts and allowing me to grow and learn because I am definitely not perfect!
I am also thankful for my family. Times have been pretty tough for us and we do what we can to look past the hurt. I am thankful for the trials that have helped us grow closer together and have made us who we are. I am especially thankful for my sister Kim. We have become so close since my Dad passed and I am thankful for her friendship.
I'm thankful for such great friends. I don't have many close friends but I am thankful for those of you (you know who you are) who have been so supportive and always check in on me to make sure I am doing OK.
These are just a few of the things I am thankful for. I had a great day with my family and best of all, Dan didn't have to work and he didn't even get a call! It was awesome! Happy Thanksgiving!
