I'm In!!

I wanted to let you all know the good news I received this afternoon... I have officially been accepted to Weber State University's Associate degree Nursing Program. I will be starting this coming August and it is a two year program. I am so excited, but very nervous at the same time! It feels like I haven't been going to school forever (it's only been a year). I am so scared to leave my kids with someone other than Dan or his family! It will definitely be a tough transition for me and for both of them I'm sure. Now, we have to find someone/somewhere to watch them. Any suggestions from any of you would be great!

"I dunno Virus"

So, it all started Monday morning. Bailey woke up with a low grade fever, I didn't think much of it I just assumed she had an ear infection (she's getting tubes the 31st) and gave her some Motrin. Her fever went away and we went about our day visiting with family, Dan's brother Ben was in town for the day and the kids had a great time playing with their cousins. That night I had to work. Dan called me around 10:00pm or so and said Bailey had a fever of 102.7! I was pretty concerned because Bailey has never had a temp that high, even with her history of a bazillion ear infections! I really couldn't believe it was that high so I had Dan check it again... 102.7, that can't be right, check it again... 103.1! Oh my gosh, stop checking, it's just going higher each time! So, I left work to meet him at the Dr's office. No ear infection, no Strep, no flu, no UTI, okay looking CBC! What the heck! Her only other symptoms were a slight cough and they said her throat looked really bad. Why such a high fever? They sent us home and said if the fever lasted 3 days to come back. 3 days later (Thursday), still a fever! The fever left a few times only to come back. Wednesday morning it was about 100.8 then of course by the time we went to the Dr. it was gone. She told us she thought it was gone for good but if it came back to call her and she would want us to come in again. Later that night it came back alright, 102.4. What is going on here! We went back to the Dr. and she tested for Strep again but it was a no, and she rechecked the CBC and it looked even better than before! Then she told us she thought it was Adenovirus. Dan's response was "what'd you say, you think it's I dunno Virus?" LOL, pretty much! Then she said, if Bailey has a fever for 2 more days, that is concerning and to call her. Yeah, if she has a fever that long I think we'll just go to the ER. Especially since we have already paid way more in co pays than our ER copay is!
It's Saturday now and she woke up with a fever of 101.4. She is so miserable, her respiratory symptoms have worsened but she doesn't have any conjunctivitis or any eye symptoms for that matter, and no diarrhea. She is supposed to be getting tubes in her ears Monday morning but I don't know if that will be happening is she is still sick like this! Poor baby!

PDA

On a much happier note, I got a new phone! It's awesome! I got a Palm Centro. I am so excited to be more organized. Since I started my new job I have felt totally chaotic and it will be good to hopefully feel a little better. Check it out!

Hair...

When I was pregnant with Bailey and we found out she was a girl I was excited but pretty scared. All of you who know me, know that I'm not much of a girly girl so I was pretty terrified, mostly of pink and doing her hair. I've pretty much gotten over the pink thing and until now I haven't had to worry much about the hair thing. Lately Bailey's hair is just getting too long too manage with a headband, a barrett looks cute but I just feel like I have been doing the same thing everyday. So... I decided to venture out and try something new. These are the hair do's from the last 2 days, what do you think??
I must admit, I think it looks really cute and I'm pretty proud of myself!

Bailey is finally able to get where she wants to go. Check it out!

Monthly Pictures...

I'm a little late on the pictures this month because of all the sickness the kids have been dealing with.
They are getting so big. Bailey has been starting to army crawl a little, I have tried to get video but she stops everytime I turn the camera on!

Peyton- 3 years 5 months.

Bailey- 10 months.

Big Brother...

Peyton is the sweetest big brother. He is always so excited when Bailey wakes up and so sad when she has to go down for a nap. When she goes for a nap he always wants to say "sweet dreams baby girl". He is so concerned when Bailey is sick or crying, when she gets her shots he tells her "be tough baby, be tough" then when she cries after them, he cries too. I just had to post this picture, when we got home from Florida Peyton asked if he could feed Bailey a bottle all by himself. This was the first time he had been interested in feeding her (other than feeding her the little cereal snacks she eats). It was so cute and they both did so well. I thought it would be unsuccessful because she would just want to play with him the whole time but it went pretty well. She drank the bottle while she played with her toes and his chin. They are so cute together!

I hate Viral!

So... the Dr. called last night with the results of Bailey's blood tests. She said based on the CBC differential it looks like a Viral Infection. Which means, there is nothing we can do about it at this point and we just have to watch it and see what happens. Luckily when Bailey woke up this morning her rash looked tons better and she seems to be feeling more like herself. I should have taken pictures of her rash the last two days but that was the last thing on my mind. I took a few pics this morning but they don't do it justice. These are just a few leftover marks from what was there yesterday.

Sick, Sick and more Sick!!

So it all started in Florida, I guess that's what we get when we try to take a vacation to the nice, sunny, warm weather! First it was Bailey with her bright red, goopy eye and low grade fever that took us too the Dr. there in Florida only to find out she had a double ear infection! Finally we made it home and that weekend Peyton woke up in the middle of the night yelling "I can't see, Dad, I can't see!" the next morning we found out he had pink eye! I also talked to the Dr. about Peyton's gunky cough which is present 8 months out of the year, he referred us to an asthma specialist. The next Monday we found out Peyton has what seems to be mild asthma, we are still figuring that all out. Then... yesterday Bailey woke up from her nap with a yucky rash around her inner thighs on both legs. The rash was raised and I was sure it was hives since she was on Amoxicillin for her ear infections. I made an appointment with the Dr. (this was our second visit in 5 days). By the time we got too the Dr. the rash was worse and she had a little showing up on her abdomen, the back of her neck and in both armpits. What was weird was the rash was different looking in each place! The Dr.'s were stumped! Long story short she sent us home and told us too use Hydrocortisone cream and do a few other things and watch it. This morning her inner thigh's looked better but her neck, abdomen and armpits were WAY worse! I watched her through the day and it didn't get any better. This afternoon I called the Dr. and she wanted us too come back in (3rd Dr. visit in less than a week!). They were again unsure about what was going on so she checked her platelet and WBC count which were both high. She was concerned so she sent us over too have some blood work done and we are still waiting for the results. By the time we got home Bailey was hysterical, it was so so sad. The poor thing has been through so much I wish I could do more for her, it's such a helpless feeling. Wish us luck, I'll for sure update when I find out what's going on.

Home

We made it home from Florida OK. The plane ride home was about the same as the ride there only without the bathroom incident. Peyton didn't want too use the bathroom on the plane because he didn't want too hurt his bum. I promised him that he wouldn't and this time I had him sit down, I realized that would have been a good idea last time! Bailey and I were sick so the flight wasn't too fun for either of us. Bailey started having problems last Friday or so and I finally decided to take her to the Dr. on Monday. She had ear infections on both ears and she was also cutting 2 teeth! Poor thing! She did very well on the plane for feeling so miserable. She is getting tubes in her ears March 31st since she has had 5 ear infections since October. Hopefully the tubes will make things a little better for her. It will be a new experience for us, Peyton never has had problems with his ears.

We had a great time in Florida visiting Kim, Nate, Hannah and Penelope. It was great too spend some time with them and the kids had a blast playing together. Here are a few pictures of our last couple days there and some others that I thought were worth posting.
