Growing up...

I love watching my kids grow and learn, I have enjoyed EVERY stage of their growing up (so far)! Peyton's wheels are turning and he has been learning a lot at daycare/school. Lately he has been learning about dinosaurs. When I asked him what he learned he told me very matter of factly "the one with the plates on his back is my favorite (Triceratops), but he stinks!" I asked him if he meant he is extinct but he insisted that he DID NOT MEAN THAT! A few days later he informed me that "what ACTUALLY happened was, the dinosaurs ate food that made them stink and it made them all die."

Bailey has been doing really well at daycare lately and rarely cries when we drop her off. She has been dealing with a lot of sickness due to her thumb sucking habits. After the ear infections she got strep throat and also a yeast infection from all the antibiotics! They gave her a shot of antibiotics to get that round over quicker and it seemed to help. She is just a little stuffy now with a yucky cough, but we'll take that over strep or ear infections any day!

Bailey has been so funny lately, she's starting to talk in full sentences and is saying a lot of new words and phrases. She has also been taking the stairs standing up (going up and down)! It really makes me nervous, especially when she does it on the bleachers at Dan's games, she's getting better with practice though. Her and Peyton are becoming very competitive and possessive of their toys and pretty much everything. If one has a toy or anything, the other MUST have it! Dan has been going crazy. He is determined to stop this behavior! It's only going to get worse as they get older (at least for a while)!

Anyway, just thought I would post a little update on the kids.

Mark A. Bybee

September 28, 1951- February 20, 2004

My dad was one of the most amazing people I have ever known. He was always so upbeat and loved to talk to others. He was an amazing teacher and touched the lives of many throughout his life! I dream of what a fun grandpa my Dad would have been to my children, often I am angry because what he did was so selfish, and my children and many others have been cheated! It breaks my heart to think of what he must have been feeling to think that suicide was the only solution to his problems. I am so thankful to know that our Heavenly Father is loving and that only he is the judge. I know that he couldn't have been in his right mind to do such a thing. I am so thankful that I have many happy memories of my Dad, he was always so supportive of me and showed me how much he cared. One of my happiest memories of my Dad was my wedding day, he was so happy and I'll never forget his face that whole day, he was beaming. He loved Dan so much and couldn't have picked a better spouse for me himself. I miss him so much and I miss what might have been.

I love you Dad, life is not the same without you!

The REAL question is...

Last nights FHE lesson was about the premortal life. Dan was teaching and got a little carried away talking about eternal life "living forever" for Peyton's understanding. This is the dialog that took place as the lesson was wrapping up...
Peyton "so we get to live forever?"
Dan "Yep"
Peyton "Nice"
Dan "and we are going to be able to see Jackson again"
Peyton "he's gonna come back alive"
Dan "yes, it's called being resurrected"
Peyton "Nice"
Dan "yeah son, then we will be immortal and that means we wont die"
Peyton "Nice"
Dan "okay, does anyone have any questions?"
Peyton- raises his hand- Dan calls on him
Peyton "So how does Batman capture the Joker?"

Recovering...

Bailey is FINALLY on the mend. After we took her to the Dr. the first time, she was taking the antibiotic they prescribed and she just wasn't getting better. Her ear was still draining quite a bit and she was pretty much up all night every night. So, last Wednesday I decided I should probably take her to the Dr. again because I didn't think the antibiotic was working. Well, it wasn't! Her other membrane had ruptured! No wonder she was so miserable still! So now we've got her on a different antibiotic plus some antibiotic ear drops they seem to be working. We are going to see her ENT this coming Tuesday so if there is still a lot of goop in her ears they can suck it all out and her ears will heal quicker. We will probably also discuss the possibility of doing tubes again. We'll have to see what happens. I'll keep you all posted, as I'm sure you are all so interested in our ear drama~!
