Happy Birthday Hannah

Today is my niece Hannah's 5th birthday. She is such a sweet, smart girl and we just wanted to wish her a happy birthday and pay tribute to her by posting a few of our favorite pictures of her over the years.

Birthday Dinner

Tonight we had a great time, we were able to go to Teppanyaki Japanese Steakhouse for Dan's birthday. Dan's Mom took the kids so we could have a nice night out with some of our good friends Aaron and Mechelle. It was a great meal and it was nice to catch up with our friends whom we hadn't seen in a while. Thanks Aaron and Mechelle for coming and thanks Mom for watching the kids!

Tag and a Happy Birthday

I was tagged by my cousin Olea and I thought it would be very fitting if I posted this tag along with a Happy Birthday wish to my hunk of a man! So, here it goes...

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER?
We have been together for 7 1/2 years. We started dating when his sister Kathy and I were roommates at Utah State. Dan and I went to High School together so we already knew each other. Before I moved up to Logan we would see each other at Gold's Gym and make small talk. Later after moving, I told Kathy I thought her brother was really cute and she said he had said the same thing about me! The rest is history.

HOW LONG DID YOU DATE?
We dated for about 7 months and we're engaged for just over 3 months. So 10 months total from first date to marriage.

WHO EATS MORE?
Uh, definitely NOT me!

WHO SAID "I LOVE YOU" FIRST?
It was more of a "I think I'm falling in love with you" type conversation, and I am pretty sure he said it first. What a man!

(on our honey moon in Lake Tahoe)
WHO IS TALLER?
Him by by about 8 inches.

WHO HAS MORE SPEEDING TICKETS?
We are probably about even, neither of us have very many.

WHO IS SMARTER?
Him about sports, his job. Me about everything else;)

WHO IS MORE SENSITIVE?
I am but he's got a real sensitive side to him, he can be so sentimental sometimes.
(at our wedding breakfast)

WHO DOES THE LAUNDRY?
We actually probably wash and fold about the same and I put away mostly.

WHO DOES THE DISHES?
I do them more but he really does them a lot. He will be doing them a lot more the next few years because I will be pretty busy with school. Same with the laundry!

WHO IS MORE ROMANTIC?
He is when he wants to be.

WHO SLEEPS ON THE RIGHT?
He sleeps on the right side AND in the middle, I'm squished in the other side.

WHO PAYS THE BILLS?
We try to do them together, sometimes that doesn't work out so I just do them.

WHO MOWS THE LAWN?
Mostly me because I want it done a certain way and he isn't as particular about it. I really enjoy doing it, I love listening to the music loud and just having a break. I love seeing the finished product!

WHO COOKS DINNER?
I do most of the time but he has been cooking more lately. He really does a good job, he has made some yummy meals and has even done some experimenting.

WHO IS MESSIER?
Probably him, he is more laid back, so messes don't bother him as much.

WHO DRIVES WHEN YOU ARE TOGETHER?
He does 98% of the time.

WHO IS MORE STUBBORN?
We are both really stubborn but we are getting better, at least we are trying.

WHO IS FUNNIER?
His sisters think he is. He probably is, but they laugh at everything! It makes him feel good though so it's OK with me, I guess.

(New Years Eve 2005)
WHO KISSED WHOM FIRST?
It was mutual, a kiss like you would kiss your grandma. It really sucked because I went back up to Logan right after for a week, so we both had that week to dwell on our CRAPPY first kiss!

WHO ASKED WHO OUT FIRST?
I asked him to come up to Logan for dinner that Kim and I made. After that he did all the asking.

WHO PROPOSED?
He did, It was 7 years ago today! I was so surprised I didn't know what to think. He had me convinced that he wasn't ready to get married. After he proposed I tried to talk him out of it and told him that we didn't have to get married just because I wanted to. Then he had to re-convince me that he was just kidding and was trying to lead me to think he wasn't ready so I would be surprised. It sorta backfired because he was expecting me to cry and I didn't shed a tear because I was so confused!

(engagement pictures)
Dan is such a great husband and father, he is my best friend. I have been so blessed to have him in my life. He has been such a strength for me and has always been there when I have needed him most. He is so calm and so forgiving. I appreciate his gentleness and optimism, he helps me see the good things when all I see are bad. Thank you Dan for being my friend and companion, I love you with all my heart and I can't imagine life without you. Happy 29th baby!

Organization...

I was so excited to move into our new home (we have been here since October). The two things I was most excited about having were a master bathroom and a garage. We are finally getting to the few small projects that have been on my list since day one. Organizing the garage and building a workbench were on the top of the list. Anyone who knows me well knows that my heart isn't at ease if I feel unorganized. Well people, my heart is finally at ease (at least more at ease than before)!! The last two weekends were spent cleaning, organizing and building (just a few of my favorite things). Well, not so much cleaning but I like the end result so I do it. We got an awesome hanging system for our garage, it's called the Rubbermaid Fast Track. It was a little pricey but well worth it! This weekend we built our workbench. Let me tell you, I have been waiting 6 years to build a workbench. From the second I became a home owner I was putting my plans together. It turned out awesome and the best part is, Dan and I did it together and didn't bicker once! Anyone who has been around us knows we don't usually work well together, but we had a great time doing it. I forgot to take a before picture so I dug up the one I had, it's from a different angle so it doesn't show much but the after pictures sure do.Before

During

After

Everything on the ground here is garbage, we ran out of room, except the big ladder is Dan's Mom's and the small one behind it is the new ladder Dan got for his birthday, sort of a selfish gift on my part but oh well.

Crack up

Peyton and Bailey have so much fun together. They often have these random laughing spurts where either Bailey or both of them are laughing over nothing more than a silly noise or look.

Monthly Pictures...

The kids are getting so old. I really can't believe Bailey is going to be turning 1 next month! Peyton has been acting so much older lately, I really need to be better about writing down all the funny things he is saying. Bailey is starting to say a few things too. She has been saying "what's that", "eyes", "Peyton", "Jackson" and of course "Mama" and "Dada". She has been so much better since her surgery, I am glad she got it done.

Peyton- 3 years 6 months.
Bailey- 11 months.

Bailey's Surgery

Bailey had her surgery (tubes in her ears) a few weeks ago, March 30th. I haven't blogged about it because I wasn't able to get the pictures and video off my PDA until now. The surgery went really well, it only took about 15 minutes and she was in recovery for about an hour. Before the surgery she was a little anxious about all the strangers coming in and out so the anesthesiologist suggested some Versed to calm her down a little. We gave her the medicine and she was so loopy! It was hilarious, she couldn't even hold her head up. After the surgery she was so mad! Nothing could calm her down. They say the babies just get really mad because they are really groggy and they can't figure out what is going on. After a while she fell asleep and she was fine after that. These last few weeks have been a lot better. She has been much happier and I think she is glad to finally be feeling like herself again!

Check out that bed head hair!

Bailey

Just a little clip of Bailey.

GH3

We have been having a lot of fun with Guitar Hero III. We got another guitar so we are able to battle and play co-op careers now. It has been so much fun and we have all gotten a lot better. Peyton loves to rock out!

Sally...

So... here is the new addition to our family. We got her a few weeks before Easter, she is about 12 weeks old now. Peyton was upset that we didn't get a male dog so he could name him Lightning McQueen or Optimus Prime so we told him he could name her. He picked Sally, from his favorite show Cars. Neither Dan or I are too fond of the name but that's alright, it fits her. She has been a great dog and she is a very fast learner but she still tests the limits very often. The kids love her and have a great time with her. She is such a cutie. Oh yeah, she's a Beagle.

Bailey in Sally's bed.

Easter...

I have been really bad at blogging these last few weeks. I didn't really realize how behind I was 'till I downloaded all the pictures off our camera. The kids got a wagon for Easter this year but since the weather has still been cold we have only been able to use it once. The kids loved it.

Check out Bailey's hair, that's the "day after piggy tails" hair do.
