So... Dan and I decided that since Kim & Nate weren't going to be living in Florida for much longer, we should make one last trip too visit them. Dan was limited on which days he could take off work so we decided we would save money if the kids and I flew out in the middle of the week (we're staying for 2 weeks) and he would meet us on a Friday and stay for a week. The kids and I came out Wednesday the 20th we found a great deal on our flights, the only problem was that there was one stop and one layover so it made for a long day. My kids are really good so I thought it wouldn't be too bad of a trip. The trip went pretty smoothly until we had a 2 1/2 hour delay on our last flight then we waited on the runway to takeoff for at least a half hour. As we were on the runway waiting Peyton informed me that he needed to use the restroom. Now... using the bathroom or taking Peyton too the bathroom on the plane was a whole new set of problems. Imagine for a minute fitting me, holding chubby little Bailey, trying to help Peyton pull down his pants, then having to hold him up so he can aim into the potty (he is too short to reach over the edge) and doing all this in a 3ft x 3ft space. Not too fun, or easy for that matter! Anyway, I checked with the flight attendant too see if I had time too take him and she called the captain and he wanted me too wait because the plane couldn't take off if anyone was out of their seat. There was a horrible storm (hence the reason for the long delay) so once we got in the air there was a lot of turbulence. Peyton was grabbing his crotch the whole time and I was begging him not too pee in his pants and bribing him telling him that I would buy him a specific nerf gun he has been wanting. I was afraid to take him too the bathroom because of the turbulent conditions but a guy got up and took his boy too the bathroom, he didn't have a baby or have to go into the bathroom with his son but I thought I would be ok, so I decided I would go ahead and take Peyton. The turbulence had seemed to calm down a bit but the seatbelt sign was still on (that should have been my first clue, but what was worse here, pee soaked pants and seat on a tiny plane or breaking a little ity bity rule??). Right as we got too the bathroom the turbulence really picked up, the flight attendant got on the speaker and said "these conditions are not safe, please stay in your seats for your own safety and the safety of others!" Well, it was a little too late for that, I already had Peyton's pants down! That is when the crap his the fan. As we bounced up and down and side too side, the 3 of us in that tiny space, I went from begging Peyton to just hurry up and go to yelling at him to do it NOW! He was so scared (as was I) he just froze up, he couldn't go. I seriously thought the plane was going down, guess I've been watching LOST too much! So finally I just told him too pull up his pants so we could somehow get back too our seats. Just as Peyton bent down too pull up his pants we hit a big bump and he fell too the ground (pants still down) as he fell he hit his mouth on the toilet cutting his lip! I was freaking out trying too pull him up and we hit another bump and I tried too pad the bump by bending my legs and sat on his head pushing him down again! He was crying, I was yelling (Bailey was calm as could be). I finally got him up and pulled up his pants just as the flight attendant knocked on the door asking if we needed help, uh, ya think!! Anyway, we finally got back too our seats with her help and I got the kids strapped in. The lady next too us asked Peyton if he felt better and I was so embarrassed to say that he didn't even end up peeing!! After a few minutes I broke down bawling and I wished Dan was there so badly. I think the lady across the isle saw me crying because when the plane landed she offered help but I declined and she just helped me anyway, I really appreciated her.So, we finally made it here and I am so glad that flying experience is over! We have had a lot of fun already we have been swimming, shopping and just hanging out. The kids have had a great time playing and Bailey is so entertained. It is so nice too visit the warm weather and I am sad that Kim will be moving away from here, it has been nice too vacation here so often (3 times in 2 years).

Oh, I'm sorry, I hate when things like that happen, you're brave. Looks like it was worth it though, I wish I could be in the warm weather with you, Have Fun!
OH I want to cry for you! that sounds like such the ordeal, but I am so happy you got to go and be there and see Kim! How fun you guys get to visit each other so often!
you poor thing! I can't imagine....when your kid's gotta pee, your kids' gotta pee, right? You wrote a great description of the event...i'm sure you'll laugh at it one day. You probably already have! Glad you're having a good time! Enjoy the sun for me!
funniest story ever! I was sitting her laughing. I of course would have been bawling the entire time so I am proud of you for keeping your composure for so long. Hope you have the best trip ever, you guys deserve it!
Oh my gosh. I was laughing so hard when I read this. I remember taking Gage to Hawaii right after he was potty trained and I kept a blanket underneath him just in case he had an accident. I hated taking him into the airplane bathroom so I can't imagine helping him while holding a baby. I hope you guys are having a blast. Say hi to Kim and Nate for me.

Oh I know exactly how you feel. Once on a 5 hr flight back from New York I had to find somewhere to change a diaper that was completely soaked through and poopy. I ended up in the middle of turbulance on the floor with a blanket below Michaella rushing to change a diaper that was stinking up the whoel cabin poop everywhere bouncing around. Luckily I had my Mike with me but still not fun. I totally comend you for traveling with 2 little ones all by yourself!
K you are so good at telling stories. I felt like I was there! Trying to go to the bathroom with kids is impossible for them and for you LOL one time Maddy was like a year and half and the flight was only like an hour and she managed to soak through the same diaper 3 times. There was no chance of taking her to change her diaper cause it was so short, so when I got up my entire lap was soaked with pee. IT looked like I peed. SO embarressing. So I totally feel your pain!! Glad your got there safe!!! Have fun woman!
