The kids started "school" daycare yesterday. Dan and I took them and stayed on Tuesday for a few hours so they could get to know the place and their teachers a little before we just dropped them and left. They seemed to really like it, Bailey played for a few hours while Dan and I talked to the director and looked around a little more than we had before. Peyton LOVED it and was sad when we told him it was time too go. They had to be there for almost 9 hours yesterday and they did pretty good, neither of them cried when we left and Bailey only cried a few times through out the day, I did pretty well too, I only teared up just a little. Today didn't go quite as well, Bailey was REALLY upset when I left, she was screaming pretty much as loud as I think I have ever heard her. She calmed down after about 5 minutes (I was standing around the corner) then started right up again when her favorite teacher left the room. When I got back they said she cried more than yesterday but still not too bad. Both days she only took a 30 minute nap, at home she usually naps for between 2-3 hours! Peyton is having a great time with all his new friends and his really fun teacher who has a cool accent that Peyton loves, it sounds like it's British. They both are having troubles with eating, it doesn't help that I have been home with them their whole lives and pretty much feed them foods that they prefer. I'm sure they'll get better at eating and Bailey will get better at napping, it will just take time.

It sounds like a really good place you are taking them too. I am glad they are honest with you about how often she cries. I would want to know. It will get easier. I am glad Peyton loves it. He is pretty social
oh i can relate so much to what you are going through! i have worked at different points over the last few years...i had plenty of days where i cried on the way to work missing the kids, wondering if they'll be okay, bummed that i'd be missing what they were doing that day...the adjustment period is the most difficult, but you & the family will do it & it'll be okay! you have such an optimistic attitude about it. and you know what? it's going to work out just fine! i really feel like Heavenly Father gives us a little bit of extra whatever we need so that we can make it work because it's the right thing. good luck! we want to hang out with you guys sometime, but i know your lives are super busy!! one of these days the stars will align & we'll be able to hang!:)
ps-does dan get free diet coke since he works for coca-cola? lucky!
I know how you feel. It is heartbreaking but always good to feel like they are being well taken care of. Leaving them with someone is so hard. You are an amazing student/mom to do it with two kids. It will go faster than you think.
Your kids are so cute! Peyton is such a sweet little boy, I am sure he makes friends very easily. Poor Bailey, I think she is a mommy and daddys girl huh!
Hey,
This is Tiffanie Butters-oladi. I saw your family pics over on facebook. You have a beautiful family! I am going to put your link on my blog. If that is ok?
Laura, you and Dan are GREAT parents!!! I was a day care kid and I loved it. I got to play like every day, they will get used to it and it will all be ok:)
